THIS JULY, WALDO TURNS 25!
Help us celebrate by joining in the metro-area Find Waldo Local Milwaukee scavenger hunt taking place July 1st-July 30th at participating independent businesses in Milwaukee, Shorewood, Whitefish Bay, and Wauwatosa.
It's simple, it's free, and it’s also fun!!
We invite kids and their responsible adults to Boswell for the Find Waldo Local Milwaukee kick-off party on July 1st any time between 4:00 and 6:00pm. With treats provided by Outpost Natural Foods, we'll be ready for lots of Waldo-related fun. Come dressed as Waldo and be entered into a raffle for Boswell gift cards! Be sure to pick up your free Find Waldo passport at Boswell (or any of the participating businesses listed below) so you can begin the hunt.
Here is how it works: Visit fifteen (or more) Find Waldo Local Milwaukee participating businesses (look for the window cling!), say hello, perhaps make a purchase (support local businesses!), find Waldo, have your passport validated, and return it to Boswell Books by July 30 for a $2 off Boswell coupon, a Waldo sticker and a chance to win prizes!
Prizes include a mushroom stool from Fischbergers, a gift basket from Café Hollander Downer Avenue, and gift cards from Yo Mama, Indulgence Chocolatiers (two), Zoom Room, Just Kidding Kids Cuts, and Boswell (ten $10 cards), with the top prize being a 6-volume deluxe set of Waldo books.
At 4pm on July 31st, we'll make our prize announcements, after which we will host the Brain Quest Challenge (another great event for kids of all ages) at 4:30 pm.
Our co-sponsors and scavenger hunt locations:
(Capitol Dr. in Milwaukee, Kinninickinnic Ave. in Bay View, and State St. in Wauwatosa)
If you want to share photos of your search, you can upload them to the official Find Waldo Local Milwaukee event page on Facebook (you can also invite your friends to take part, increasing your possibilities for adventure and friendly competition) or post to Twitter using the hashtag #WaldoMKE (you can tag us too, @boswellbooks).
Best of luck and, more importantly, have fun!
Where’s Waldo is the creation of Martin Handford, whose entertaining drawings of crowd scenes swept the world in 1987. Since then, the Where’s Waldo books have held a cherished spot on bookstore shelves the world over. There are now over 58 million Waldo books in print worldwide and they’ve been translated into eighteen languages. An entire generation has grown up searching for Waldo and his cast of wandering companions.
